Prayer Room

The Prayer Room, established on behalf of all Canary Wharf workers who belong to the major faith communities is managed  day to day is by a Multifaith steering group.

The purposes of the Prayer Room are:

  • to provide a space for practising and exploring faith during the working week
  • to offer support and counsel, whenever possible, for those who work in Canary Wharf
  • to respect the right and privilege of all people to follow their faith as their hearts and minds dictate
  • the faith communities involved are those affiliated to the Interfaith Network Form for the United Kingdom.

The easiest way to the Prayer Room is over the southerly road bridge near Waitrose (ie the right hand one as you come from the main part of the wharf):

  • On the other side of the canal you will see a semi-cicular atrium housing a small shopping mall.  (This includes the Barclays retail branch which is well signposted.)
  • Takes the steps to the left of the road down to the canal-side terrace.
  • Go into the atrium / mall and you will find a Starbuck’s (one of the many around the wharf)
  • Take the rightmost passage (to the right of Barclays)
  • The Prayer Room is on the left at the end.

It is possible to get to the atrium using the glass footbridge and never stepping foot outside but it is harder to describe.  Also it will take you through the Barclays building entrance hall where you may be subject to a bag search as part of their normal building security. If you can add any extra clarity to this information then please mail us on info@cwcc.org.uk

We suggest you allow an extra 5-10 minutes the first time you try to get there.
